The Hobbit | Gene Deitch

Gene Deitch is an American illustrator who was based in Prague throughout the 60s. He produced episodes for “Tom and Jerry” and “Popeye.” Deitch was also the first adaptor of the epic short film, “The Hobbit,” which was illustrated by fellow Czech illustrator Adolf Born (proud owner of a Stache).
